In our old house, we had two closets. In this house, we have (counts on fingers) . . . nine. Nine closets! Now, not all closets are created equal and the closet in the downstairs bathroom is more of a hole in the wall with a door. The closets in Aunt Momo’s room have water pipes running through them. Be that as it may, there are still nine closets and nine opportunities for concealed clutter.
When Tsh of Simple Mom announced that this week’s project would be a closet, I originally wanted to tackle the hallway closet. But Printz Charming, who rarely voices an opinion on my projects, requested that I focus on our bedroom closet. You can see why:
Oh my. We look like an episode of Hoarders.
Paint ball equipment, cigars, wedding cards, and plenty of random stuff on my husband’s side of the closet . . .
Old curtains from the dining room, flannel sheets we never use, and extra bedding on mine.
After several hours (spread out over the past week), our closet now looks like this!
We have a floor again! I hung my Pinterest-inspired jewelry organizer on the wall and added hooks for purses and totes.
I bought cheap black bins for containing smaller items and extra sheets & pillowcases on my side of the closet.
The shelf on my Printz’s side is looking a lot less crazy too.
Now I want to paint the inside of our closet and add artwork!
Next Week’s Project: Dealing with PILES. I have plenty of them, but I will be focusing on the mountains in Wendy’s future bedroom.
And in case you missed them, here are projects from Weeks 1 through 15.
